Gratitude is a beautiful blessing. The ability to look at most situations and feel grateful is an incredible skill.
I once heard someone say that you should practice gratitude by writing down a handful of things you are grateful for every single day. So I tried it. I didn’t write the same things every day, and I focused on the small things. Pretty soon I started noticing that I was focused far more on the things I was grateful for rather than the things I was ungrateful for. I now do this every morning in a journal/planner I have created. It’s one of my favorite parts of the day. I sip my coffee, listen to the silence, and fill out my guided journal. I highly recommend it.
Building the skill of being grateful allows for a richer life experience.
This picture reminds me how grateful I am to be able to do the things we love. Ranch, ride horses, move cows, work with family. Even when things don’t go well, the gratitude I can find in these situations trumps the conflict every time.
